Objective 2: interventions

Design, develop and test possible interventions and strategies to address the deficit in human resources for primary health care in Africa

The preliminary research together with a systematic review of interventions and strategies already tested, provide the basis for the design and development of the different interventions in the framework of HURAPRIM.

Because the national context of the African partner countries varies considerably, suitable interventions and monitoring tools to fit each partner were elaborated. The actions in Botswana, Mali, Uganda and South Africa deal with different topics related to the health workers involvement at the primary care level, while in Sudan the research will focus on the multidisciplinary role of nurses in the country.

In September 2012 all African partners started with the implementationof their interventions. The concludng reports were drafted in November 2014.
