Objective 4: future directions

Formulate scientifically sound, acceptable and feasible policy recommendations for the future

The HURAPRIM project ultimately aims to increase awareness and political attention on the issue of health workers in order to contribute to the realization of the Millennium Development Goals by improving access to (primary) health care, especially for people living in underserved areas.

After the evaluation of the tested interventions, conclusions will be drawn regarding their feasibility, acceptability, sustainability, cost effectiveness, etc… These conclusions will be translated into future policy recommendations.

Different key-stakeholders will be involved and the conclusions will feed into a policy brief on “Building comprehensive primary health care teams for Africa: the way forward”, describing concrete measures to address the human resource crisis in primary health care in Africa.
